The Network Manager provides day-to-day management, functionality, and support to the company network, its devices, and those that utilize them. Assist in initiating, planning, and implementation of new or updated services, devices, or functionality. Provides recommendations and advice for strategic development of the department and executes in support of the company s mission and core objectives. Communicates with corporate leadership and external partners to assure efficient integration between systems, processes and people while maintaining information and data integrity. Due to this position s level of access to and control over highly confidential data, systems, and other information, there is a high expectation regarding confidentiality, judgement, safety, and security that comes with it. This position also includes periodic after-hours, on-call support to our end-user community requiring independent judgment and decision making for prompt resolution.

This position will operate out of Goodwill s Home Office, located at 1235 S. Eugene St., Greensboro, NC. Occasional travel is required throughout our five-county territory, including Guilford, Alamance, Randolph, Rockingham, and Caswell Counties.

Essential Functions

  • Works with VP of IS to establish departmental technology goals, objectives, timelines, and operating budget based on past departmental trends/needs.
  • Provides ideas/suggestions/warnings to management regarding credible new technologies, process enhancement opportunities, and security threats on the horizon.
  • Monitors service level agreements with both internal and external customers and service providers. Evaluates service delivery to ensure the agreed targets and standards are met.
  • Participates in organizational IS strategy by fostering innovation, prioritizing IS initiatives and identifying opportunities for cost-effective investment in IS systems and resources. *
  • Communicates with and between all department leaders to assure smooth transition of new or updated technologies. *
  • Ensures enforcement of policies, procedures and standards relating to information and telecommunication systems and recommends modifications, updates and/or additions when appropriate.
  • Carries out IS policies and procedures.
  • Gathers, creates, updates, and maintains all documentation for network resources, hardware equipment, and software applications for business continuity purposes. *
  • Reports known or suspected safety, security, and/or theft issues to an appropriate member of management.
  • Oversees corporate networking systems, analyzes current needs, and anticipates future needs. Identifies and implements proactive solutions to satisfy needs.
  • Maintains up-to-date electronic documentation for all departmental tasks, processes, and procedures.
  • Performs regular system maintenance per departmental schedule.
  • Responsible for maintaining hardware/software inventory.
  • Responsible for adding, deleting, and updating user email accounts in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Responsible for setup, configuration, and delivery of connected, network-based hardware.
  • Assists users in setup, configuration, and troubleshooting systems, applications, and accounts.
  • Troubleshoots and maintains enterprise telephony systems as necessary or assigned.
  • On-call rotation availability.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, & Skills):

  • Associate Degree or equivalent technology certification, training (i.e. A+/NET+, MCSE, M365/Azure certifications, Cisco certifications, AWS certifications, etc.), or equivalent work experience. Project management experience or certifications are a plus.
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in an information technology related field (supervisory/management experience a plus). Experience must include a track record of successfully driving and executing IT strategies and projects.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and ability to work in various environments with a variety of personalities.
  • Must be disciplined, hardworking, and have the ability to make intelligent, reasoned decisions.
  • Must have the ability to work in a team setting as well as independently as well as prioritize and complete multiple, competing directives.
  • Must have a valid NC driver s license, acceptable driving record, reliable vehicle, adequate vehicle insurance coverage and be able to travel within Goodwill s 5 county territory.
  • Periodic after-hours, on-call work is required.

Hours: Position is salaried. Work is generally conducted Monday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm, with occasional requirements for evening/weekend events.

Salary & Benefits: Salaried/Exempt Position, $50,000-$55,000 depending on experience and education. Benefits include medical insurance, life insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, paid vacation, paid holidays, short- and long-term disability, 401k plan, and educational assistance plan.
